Productinformatie "EpiGuide"
Epi-Guide® is a uniquely structured, resorbable, synthetic membrane and is particularly suitable for use in periodontology. Epi-Guide® consists of a bioresorbable polymer synthesised from D-, D-L-, L-lactic acid. The polymer degrades to carbon dioxide and water.
Epi-Guide® is hydrophilic and features a patented multi-layered architecture of cavities of varying porosity. Its three-dimensionally engineered density gradient is designed to attract and stabilise fibroblasts and epithelial cells. Their space-creating property enables the development of bone substance and periodontal supportive tissue.
Epi-Guide® organises fibroblasts and epithelial cells in such a way that epithelial migration is blocked during the later healing phases. Barrier function is maintained for more than six weeks, and complete bioresorption occurs within approximately six to twelve months.
